Hey everyone,
Big update today with 3 new features and some upgrades! Click here to try them out!
Version History

From now on every time you save a scene a copy will be made of the previous version so that you can go backwards in time to an earlier version of your scene!
You can see the version history for a scene by opening the scene and then opening File > Version History. From there you can re-open any old version.
If you open an old version and then decide to make changes, a copy based on that version will be made. This way you don't overwrite the latest version of your original scene and you can branch off from a previous version without loosing any in between!
Auto Saving
Your scenes will now auto-save every 2 minutes while you work on them! This pairs up super nicely with the Version History so that you can revert back to the idea you had 5 minutes ago, before your cat ran across the keyboard, even if you didn't save.
If you don't want to use this feature there is also a setting to turn it off under File > Settings.
Reference Images
You can now upload images to the floor plane as reference plans for re-building 2D dungeons and buildings in wonderful 3D! You can find this under Edit > Reference Image.

There is also an image scaling option so that you can tweak the size to line up with the quarter-inch grid.
Performance Upgrade
When using Terrain Tinker you might notice that models load in as you scroll through the sidebar. This is great for allowing you to drag and drop new models into the scene quickly once they have loaded.
However these pre-loaded models were never un-loaded if you didn't use them! So if you scrolled the list for a while things would start to slow down and in some cases Terrain Tinker could even crash.
This upgrade fixes this issue by unloading the models that aren't in use in your scene if you haven't scrolled by them in the past 2 minutes.
For most people you won't notice that a thing has changed but for some this will be a very welcome update!
Combined Exports for Uploaded STLs
Last up we have made a small tweak that allows uploaded STLs to be included in combined exports. We had quite a few requests for this so squeezed it in between our other updates!
The editor would sometimes let this happen in the past but it wasn't consistent, so that has been fixed now.
Be sure to check the exports in your slicing software before printing though as there may be gaps around the uploaded STLs if they don't match the size of the other OpenLOCK tiles.
Whats Next?
We are still working through the Dungeon Booster models and will be ready to release soon!
On the features front, work is well underway on both the 2D Room Builder and 3D Exports. The 3D Exports development has gone really well so far so we may even release that before the Room Builder.
We hope you like these features and be sure to let us know what you think of them!
Till next time,
Ryan & the Terrain Tinker team
